This spring, two duck boxes at the Springbrook Wastewater Treatment Plant were used by pairs of wood ducks to successfully hatch ducklings, bringing smiles to the faces of the wastewater plant staff.
Jeff Wunrow (pictured above), the Lead Operator at the Springbrook plant, built and put up the duck boxes near the plant outfall on his own time. Unfortunately, the staff was unable to get a photo of the ducklings… but there’s always next year!
We are happy to share this story, and proud of our personnel, who are committed stewards of the environment. Way to go, Jeff!
